Please note that the 91ÊÓƵcampus will close from Wednesday 25 December 2024, re-opening on Thursday 2 January 2025. This shutdown period and staff absences may affect the processing of FOI applications. Where the timelines are impacted we will liaise with applicant to discuss an s15AA extension of time agreement. Any applications lodged online during the shutdown period will be responded to when the University reopens.
The Freedom of Information Act 1982 is Commonwealth legislation that allows the general public to seek access to information held by any Commonwealth agency or authority.
The Australian National University is a Commonwealth authority and subject to the Act.
If you are lodging a request it is most likely that the current increase in requests will require that 91ÊÓƵseek extensions from applicants (as per FOI Act s 15AA ) or, where appropriate, seek an extension of time from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
